IMPACT
If the community doesn't define the impact, it isn't impact.
That's one of our mantras, and it sets the bar for this page. Here's what we measure, how we measure it, and what we've found.
HOW WE KNOW
Mixed-methods, and we publish what we find.
Numbers alone flatten what actually happens in a cohort. We pair them with the qualitative work that explains them.
Pre, midpoint, post surveys
Measured on a 1–7 scale. The post-program survey uses a retrospective before/after design. The midpoint survey exists to give facilitators feedback while there's still time to act on it.
Focus groups
Held at every partner school after the BOLT Youth Leaders Fellowship and after the BOLT School of Grassroots Leadership, to surface the qualitative data surveys may miss.
Case study interviews
In-depth and told in participants' own words about their experience, so they can share their story of what impact looked liked directly.
