For their Community Action Project, these youth leaders partnered with Hunting Park Green, a grassroots organization focused on neighborhood beautification and youth empowerment.

Through lived experiences and community conversations, the youth leaders identified an issue important to them: youth in low-income neighborhoods often lack access to educational resources, mentorship, and creative outlets. To address this, they brought the resources to the neighborhood by hosting a Block Party and Back-to-School Drive.

Youth leaders distributed school supplies and created a linktree of community resources. The event also included games like hopscotch, face painting, and a water balloon fight to cool off in the summer heat.⁠

The event brought together kids, families, and neighbors-creating a space for joy, connection, and support, while showing what’s possible when young people take the lead.
